As the understanding and revelation of “grace” increases in our lives we are wise to remind ourselves of what Peter said about the workings of the “God of all grace.”
In the following passage, we find four keys words; perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle, all of which are verbs. This tells me that when God’s grace is applied to my life these qualities will be evident.
1 Peter 5:10(NKJV)
10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Though the context of this scripture is suffering by persecution, I think it is safe to believe that no matter the circumstances, God’s grace will always produce the same results.

4 Ways The God Of All Grace Is Working In Your Life
1) The God of all grace will perfect you
This means he will complete us thoroughly. He will repair and adjust us so the person he created emerges.
Sometimes the events of our lives leave us marred. Scared we feel incomplete, broken, isolated, and less than valuable. Every broken, cracked, damaged, incomplete part of us can be repaired by God.
Let God love on you. Every incomplete act of love can be completed when he is allowed to love on us.
He repairs and adjusts memories that devalued us when we are willing to risk letting the “God of all grace” reveal to us his favor.
Read the Bible. As you read, ask God to show you how he views you. Ask Him to show you what he sees right about you. Then agree with what he says.
2) The God of all grace will establish you
Establish means: to turn resolutely in a certain direction, to confirm.
Examine your life. Is your life different than it was 6 months ago, a year ago, or 5 years ago?
Sometimes we think the God of all grace is not working yet when we look at who we were and compare it to who we are now we see there has been change. The change may not be in our circumstances, but something in our attitude changed.
Maybe something we once enjoyed no longer brings that same joy. Maybe we desire different things than we did before. Maybe our motivation is different.
Certainly, if you are wanting to know and understand Jesus more, then the God of all grace is establishing you.
3) The God of all grace strengthens you
This word means just what you would think: strength. Strength is the power and ability to be strong.
I am fascinated by the strength I now have concerning life’s pressures. What used to cause depression or a meltdown before Jesus Christ came into my life, now causes me to run to God with thanksgiving for the grace he supplied the last time something like this happened.
Fear does not overpower me the way it used to. Much or the reason is because of what God has done to protect, provide for, deliver me from, and see me through. I had little ability to stand strong, but I trusted that the God of all grace would help me.
When I did not trust, I sought out someone who did, and we would stand together. It is helpful to know that God says he will never leave you or forsake you (Heb 13:5).
God is faithful when we are not, and he always gives us the ability to stand under the pressure of trying times. Because of these promises we can stand strong. When we do our strength increases.
4) The God of all grace settles you
Settles means: to lay a base, erect, consolidate. 1. To make or become secure and strong. 2. To combine, to merge.
There is a settling that takes place when Jesus becomes Lord of our life. The rock of salvation becomes our base, solid and secure. We erect our lives on this new foundation and consolidate our life with the life of Jesus Christ himself. He becomes our leader.
We no longer want our own selfish way all the time. We think and desire to help others. Col 1:13 says we have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of the Son of His love.
Day upon day, year after year we find ourselves challenged in new ways but we are settled. Jesus is Lord. He is able. He can and will do what he said he would do.
I am not in this alone. The God of all grace settled me in this new kingdom and I like the results.
