My thoughts on last night’s debate.
Last night we saw the beginning of the end of selective moral outrage and virtue signaling. The cognitive dissonance that this country has been operating under is getting to such extreme levels that people’s worldviews are starting to crumble.
Folk’s it is going to be a very uncomfortable process to rip off the masks and the unauthentic narratives of human virtue. It is going to be ugly and it will only get worse. However……
I do not fear this nor do I fight it. I embrace it. No nation, group of people, nor individual can ever find salvation without first knowing it needs a savior. No nation, group, or individual can repent without first being faced with its own sin.
Currently we live in a nation that feels it has no need for God. It feels that it is “good enough.” Until our nation comes to grip with its own sinfulness and lack of virtue on all levels, repentance cannot come nor can salvation.
Currently the church lives in a state of cognitive dissonance where they acknowledge that they are sinners saved by grace yet do not extend to others the same grace that they claim to have freely received from God thus becoming just as morally bankrupt as the rest of the nation.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Last night we saw the masks of selective outrage, human virtue, and moral choices left gasping for breath on the floor. We were left with what we have always been left with but fooled ourselves to believe otherwise. We were left with total depravity. Except this time we are unable to dress up the pig and call it good.
And this folks, gives me hope. For when our nation, our communities, and every individual recognizes that it is not virtuous, then they will realize they need a savior.
As far as the rest of the debate. It is about the issues and for me that choice was made long before any of these candidates ever announced their candidacy. Government must be kept at a minimum because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
